KEEP THE OPERATING FILE CURRENT

Regulatory updates for charter operators.

Use the public federal feed to discover documents worth reviewing. Then check the issuing program, the actual rule text and your operation’s permits before changing a procedure. A new headline is a reason to investigate, not an automatic instruction to every captain.

FEDERAL REGULATORY WATCH

Keep an eye on what changes.

Published federal rules, proposals and notices related to your work. Publication is not an assessment of how a document applies to your operation.

Checking the official feed…

Automatic checks every 30 minutes while this page is visible. Queries cover the past year, up to 50 results per fixed search; relevance filtering uses titles and summaries and may miss applicable documents. Source: the public FederalRegister.gov API. Its web rendition is informational; the linked govinfo PDF is the official publication.

Louisiana bills, state emergency orders and every in-season fishery action are not included in this feed. A filed bill is not an enacted law. Louisiana bill search ↗ · NOAA Southeast bulletins ↗ · Federal Register search ↗

Read the status before changing the plan.

A proposed rule invites a process that can lead to a later final rule. It is not itself that final rule. A published rule may have a future effective date, exceptions, phased requirements or later amendments. A notice can concern a meeting, information collection, permit action or another topic with a narrower scope.

The watch shows the publication date and any effective or comment-close date returned by the API. A missing date field is not proof that a deadline or restriction does not exist. Read the document’s dates and applicability sections, then check subsequent agency actions.

Keep a change record.

  1. Save the document number, publication date, official PDF and the requirement it may affect.
  2. Identify the actual vessel, permit, passenger service, species and waters involved.
  3. Check whether the document is proposed, effective, superseded or limited to a different sector or region.
  4. Ask the responsible agency about unresolved application questions and record the date and answer.
  5. Update the operating procedure, guest offer, renewal calendar or budget only with the supported change.

Use the agency-call and operating worksheets to preserve the reasoning. Keep the original record and the dated correction rather than rewriting history.

State legislation needs a separate check.

This federal feed does not track Louisiana bills or provide a complete list of state emergency orders. Use the Legislature’s bill search for the appropriate session and examine actions, amendments, final passage, governor action and the act’s effective-date language. A bill number, committee vote or news story alone does not establish an enacted requirement.

For state administrative changes, review the current administrative-code and Register resources and the responsible agency’s orders. We did not find and verify a suitable key-free Louisiana bill API for this implementation; no state results are being presented as an automatic feed.

What this watch can miss.

Each fixed search is limited to the latest 50 returned documents within the past year. Matching titles and summaries can miss a rule that uses different language. In-season closures, local restrictions, court orders, enforcement directions, state updates and documents from other agencies may be relevant without appearing here. No results does not mean no changes.

Automatic refresh runs only while this page is open and visible; it is not a background monitoring or notification service. Values and notes from the business tools are not sent to this feed. The browser requests the public API without credentials or a referrer.
